Vesting Royale Casino Hotel is a fictional destination built inside a restored Dutch star fortress—seven earth bastions, a full water moat and a single gate, laid out in the seventeenth century by engineers who understood geometry better than most architects since. From the ground it reads as gentle grassy banks. From the air it is a perfect star, and the whole casino hotel sits inside it.
Walk the ramparts before breakfast. Cross the drawbridge at noon. Then descend the brick stair into our adults-only casino salon beneath the old barracks vaults once the moat goes still and dark. Every wall of this casino hotel was built to keep people out, which is precisely why it feels so good to be let in.

Our signature restaurant occupies the fortress bakehouse, where the original bread ovens still work. The kitchen keeps to honest Dutch cooking—slow-braised beef, smoked eel, river fish, winter roots, thick soups and dark rye pulled from those same ovens twice a day. Beer arrives by cask from a brewery inside the walls, three doors from the casino hotel salon.
